Avinash Inarkar-Article 39

Totally upset... today in the morning.. i got one sms .. and after few sms .. i came to know about my dearest friend (pratik).. something went wrong with him... i still remember whenever we are free... esp. Saturday and Sunday..we ( i said We Friends) call and meet.

But last 3 weeks my dearest friend Pratik didn't even call or try to meet me .. as he knows i m free on Sat and Sun... but today's sms clear my doubt. I dont know why he lie with me. One week Pratik was busy in Milan's Marriage and another 2 weeks they (friends- Pratik, Vinod and Nitesh) are together... except me(alone)..... It really hurt me.... but its OK..

Now i am sure to know that last week when i call Vinod on Sunday for saturday miss-call in the mid night which he had given me...   that time Pratik was with him.. and definitely on Sunday they were together.

Really upset from Pratik..Because this things is not happen first time.. earlier also when i call him( it was also Sunday)..at around 10 pm and he told me " he is in Vasai, for some work" and after few days Vinod only told that they were together.

Thanks to someone who sms me ... and for knowing me about my dearest Friend. And now onward i have decided that i am not going to part of him...

Singapore’s ‘Bill Gates’ Ultimate Success Formula

Avinash Inarkar-Article 38

Beautiful article i found, its really inspiring, as an entrepreneur. that if you once decided to do than never-ever look back.

Have you heard of Creative Technologies? It is a billion dollar company and the first Singapore company to be listed on NASDAQ. The founder, Sim Wong Hoo, is one of the wealthiest men in this country and is often referred to as Singapore’s ‘Bill Gates’. Like many successful entrepreneurs, Sim Wong Hoo comes from a very poor family with many of life’s odds stacked against him. He was an average student and graduated from a local polytechnic at the age of 19. For most people with a Polytechnic diploma, making a living on $1500 a month would have made them pretty satisfied. Not Sim. What made Sim different was that he had a different set of beliefs and values. He believed that he was not just one of the crowd, he fervently believed that he was capable of a whole lot more. Coupled with his strong internal values of family, success and contribution, he set himself a specific outcome to build the world’s first computer that could talk, sing and play music (besides just crunching numbers). He set this goal at the age of 17, while still a student! In fact, a few years before (at the age of about 15), he already set a goal of selling 100 million units of a ‘new technology’ that would revolutionize the world.

It was this pre-determined goal that got him to start developing all kind of strategies that no one else ever thought of. In 1981, he took massive action and founded Creative Technologies with $6,000. A few years later, he launched his brainchild, the Cubic CT, which was the world’s first multimedia PC. Did he succeed? No! It was a complete failure and as a result, the company lost a lot of money. Instead of seeing it as ‘failure’, he took it as feedback that the market was just not ready for his product. It was just too complex and costly. He had the technological flexibility to develop another strategy, a new innovation. Again, he didn’t get the result he wanted.

Once again, Sim used the feedback to change his strategy and take action again. He kept changing his strategy over and over again until he came out with the idea of a developing a low cost music card he called the ‘Sound Blaster’. When the Sound Blaster was launched, it became an overnight success. It became a best-selling PC card and the worldwide industry’s standard for multimedia PCs. Today, more than 60% of all multimedia PCs are based on Creative’s Sound Blaster Technology. In 1992, Creative Technologies became the first Singapore company to be listed on NASDAQ, boosting Sim’s net worth to the billion-dollar league. Today, Creative Technologies is a multimedia giant with 5,000 employees, over 20,000 outlets in the United States and boasts an annual revenue of $1.3 billion.

The Formula which Sim Wong Hoo used is :-

1.Have a Focused Goal.

2.Make a Strategy.

3.Take Consistent Action towards the Goal.

4.If you FAIL, analyze your failure and learn from it and change your strategy and TRY AGAIN.

5.NEVER EVER give up.

Vocabulary building

Avinash Inarkar-Article 29

Nice article I found on blog, do read and make an efforts to learn new words.

I stumbled on an interesting article with learning tips. It tells how to learn and build new vocabulary in the language you are learning. You can read the whole article here: Poligo Guide to Language Part 40: Vocab Building.

Here's a sample of some pieces of advices from the article:

"So, in order to build your vocabulary fast, you should follow this simple recipe:
  • Increase your daily exposure to the language: listen and read a lot;
  • Make a note of new words;
  • Make an effort to sit down and learn the new words.

If you are not learning lots of words at the intermediate level, you are not doing one of these three things. If you are not encountering new words, read and listen more. If you are not remembering the new words you find, sit down and learn them. If you sit down and find that you have no new words to learn, you have skipped number one or number two.

Do not try and choose which words to learn. Learn them all:

  1. If you have met a word in some real-life situation, it is not useless, no matter what you think.
  2. You cannot judge the usefulness of a word by comparing it to your native language.
  3. Even if a word seems useless, it might be very easy to remember, so you might as well learn it.
  4. You also cannot tell, until you learn all of the language, whether a seemingly useless word might not be related to other far more common and useful words. Learn it and you can lay the foundation for learning other things.
  5. It is also sometimes the case, that the sheer absurd uselessness of a word makes it memorable. You might be able to learn it with very little effort.
  6. Even obscure words can show in interesting ways features of the target language that will help you to learn more common words later.
  7. The words learners judge "useless" are almost always words they (and most twelve-year olds) know or at least can understand in their native language: for example, you might be surprised that anyone would know, or want to know, foreign-language words for things like "hippopotamus" or "dolphin", "schizophrenia" and so on. Yet everybody certainly knows all of these words in their native language. Why would you know a word for it in ANY language if it was "useless"

You should just learn the words that come your way, no matter what, and enjoy them.

Earthquake in japan 2011

Avinash Inarkar-Article 25

The 8.8-magnitude earthquake hit Japan around 3pm. Although the epicenter is the northeastern region where is far from Tokyo, the shaking was incredibly strong. It's the biggest earthquake which I've ever heard. And many aftershocks are still following.

The quake damage in Tokyo is not so big. Most building and houses in Tokyo are fine. However, infrastructure completely stopped. All trains and subways stopped. All highways were closed. Cars and buses can't move in roads due to traffic congestion. So people can't go home. All food in every convenience stores are sold out. Cell phones don't work. Most building in Japan, especially new ones, have earthquake-proof structure, but how weak the infrastructure is.

TV news just announced one of the terrible damages, which is that 2 - 3 hundreds bodies were found on the road in an area. who seems to have been swept up by the tsunami.

Now, one of the biggest issues is one of nuclear power-generating plants which is in critical condition. At first, the Japanese government ordered people living within a 3-kilometer radius to evacuate. Then it expanded to 10-kilometer radius, and then, now 20-kilometer radius. I hope nothing happens.
Hope things go right... and Japan can stand again from the disaster.

Restaurants:The Invisible Power Of Ideas

Avinash Inarkar-Article 24

This article i found on google... The "Big Ideas" always came in certain place, that i felt but now a days most of the ideas came in restaurant, have you ever noticed that when you go to a certain place, you feel like eating? Even though you are not hungry you want to eat there or sit there or even have chat with friends? In a city have few places which are known for food and they have a magical attraction for food lovers.

Food can attract lots of tourists to your city and has the potential to become a great business attraction. It s very common practice among business people to meet over lunch and dinner. If your city has nice restaurants then people would be attracted more and more by its food. It turns out that best hangout places are those which can feed us too: Restaurants.

In this Ted video , Steven Johnson, author of the book Where Good Ideas Come From: The Natural History of Innovation, says that good ideas generally comes from public meeting places like restaurants, coffee house, town halls. These places aren't like offices and they allow people to open up and people can think without worrying anything. So if great ideas and innovation can happen at these places then we should have more and more places like these in our cities and companies.

More and more startups and corporations are having restaurants and they serve food all day long. Facebook, Twitter, Google and i am sure more companies will doing, they all have restaurants within their campuses. Offering free food, just that thought made me rethink about switching my job. Providing free food to your employees can really make a difference to their affection and productivity at job.

If i were a Chief Minister of a States, I would hire few dozen best chefs and open up best restaurant in the city. They work in many different ways for a community. In one of the future trends, I noticed that more and more cities will embrace this phenomenon.

Avinash Inarkar-Article 23

Yesterday night when i login on Facebook, usually never log at these time 10:45 pm. But to upload the snap of My Best Pal with my Friends on Facebook. Already i send a friend request to Monie as she is Amit's friend on cruise line and i had seen her snap and comment on Amit's facebook profile. Just do what you Love.

Avinash Inarkar-Article 21

Its something which I thought, while sitting alone. When we were at school age, our teacher might have raised you a question. What you want to be when you grow? And obviously your answer would have been I want to be a doctor or engineer etc. it is inevitable that when you were in school you had many choices besides, doctor or an engineer. Some, however, achieve in life what they have replied to their teacher. But not everyone has a confused mind like me, who never decided what to be in the future. I keep myself in the category of those people who never give pressure on mind by just thinking about future and destroying all the enjoyment of present. So whenever, my teacher asked me about my future plan, my only answer were the staring eyes at her with confused face as if she has asked me to solve any engineering myth. In short, I had not decided what I wanted to be.

Sometimes, it happens in our life that, what we want to achieve will never get it. The reason is the lack of inputs and excitement, which makes us to change our mind. If we keep our mind stern and just go for it, will surely achieve what we want to achieve in our life. An individual like me who was never determined about career do keep changing my mind on the field of profession. The reason can be various suggestions which I got from my best buddies, who act as advicers. But the main reason behind my changing field is I wanted to explore myself and do something exciting that can help me to reach out to people ASAP. There can be some other medium, but everyone don't carry the same mindset in their life.It is true that no job is easier and I know it very well.

Rejection is the part of life and I too experienced it. A doctor may get the rejection for his research in medicine; an engineer may get rejection for his new development. The same goes for my profession, where rejection means losing. The start was not too easy for me even. With too many rejections and no work, I had a doubt in my mind about carrying this job for long term. But I didn’t lose my hope and I went for it.

All I want to say is, while choosing any profession for your good career, look what and how it can give you the pleasure and excitement with enough pay. Don’t just go for the work which will only provide you higher pay but no mental and other freedom. Do what excites you the most equally by earning by good pay. I don’t mean that you don’t go for doctor, engineer or for any other profession. But do what you like and make it the most exciting profession, which will encourage you to explore yourself more.
